The City of West Hollywood Human Rights Speakers Series Presents a very special community event featuring an exclusive screening of the award-winning documentary film 13th by Ava DuVernay.

Nominated for 8 Emmy Awards, 13th explores the intersection of race, justice and mass incarceration in the United States; it is titled after the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which abolished slavery in the United States (except as a punishment for crime).

Join the City of West Hollywood for a powerful evening of discussion and dialog on human rights!

Panel Discussion with Special Guest Speakers and Call to Action Reception following the film screening.

The mission of the City of West Hollywood’s Human Rights Speakers Series is to bring together diverse communities to learn about and discuss global, national and local human rights issues in a supportive environment. It is a continuation of the City of West Hollywood’s core value of Respect and Support for People.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

ID Required. Sorry. No Exceptions. ID must match First and Last Name on our RSVP list. All Guests Must be listed on RSVP.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Onsite parking at the Pacific Design Center is $10. Free parking with validation across the street from the Pacific Design Center at West Hollywood Park. Enter at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd.

What can I bring into the event?

No picket signs or signage of any kind, large bags or noisemakers. No outside food or beverages.
